Mouse to the Left

wrist painRSI (repetitive strain injury) is playing up really bad this week. I’m changing hands for mousing and switching mouse buttons to give my right hand a little rest. Rest is the only way to recover. Some really good software for helping a recovery of RSI by reminding you to take frequent rests and do stretching exercises is WorkRave but you need to be disciplined enough to use it.

I wish I was.

I have the same problem and it is hard to switch from the right hand mouse to a left hand.

I switched to a joystick looking mouse from 3m It keeps my hand at a more neutral position (thumb up) and has helped a lot.

Don’t wait until your pain gets really bad. It takes exponentially longer to heal.

I’ve used WorkRave on my work Winbox for quite a while. It’s nice to know it’s available when woknrig from home.(Working from home is bizarre. I run Linux, but work uses a Windows only VPN, so I run XP with VMWare, fire up the VPN, then use Taranella on the virtual XP machine to connect to a remote RHEL system. Sick, sick, but trying pushing Linux through our IT department )
